Privacy & your data

This page describes how the current version of ALVA handles information. It is written for families and educators, not lawyers, and should be reviewed before real students use the product.

What we store

What children never do

Elementary children do not create accounts and never enter an email address. A parent or guardian creates the profile and sets a 4-digit access code the child uses on a device the adult already signed in on.

Who can see a learner's work

The learner, the linked parent or guardian, teachers explicitly assigned to that learner by an authorized adult, and the platform owner or admin. These rules are enforced by the database itself, not only by the screens you see.

Deleting an account or profile

A parent or guardian can delete a learner profile from their dashboard, which removes that learner's progress. To request deletion of an entire adult account and all linked learners, use the request form in your account settings.

What ALVA does not claim

ALVA does not provide a clinical diagnosis and does not report a formally validated reading level. Starting Point results suggest a place to begin. Placement and mastery rules are product settings an owner or admin can adjust, and a teacher can override any suggestion.

Demo content in this version is fictional and labeled as sample content. No real student data should be entered until your organization has reviewed consent and data-retention requirements.
